New or Updated Indicators
Update #4 Updated 36 indicators using the newly released 2004 ACS data 10/17/2005
The following indicators have been updated to include 2004 American Community Survey (ACS) data:

Youth Risk Factors
Teens not attending school and not working
Persons age 18-24 not attending school, not working, and no degree beyond high school

Poverty

Children in poverty (100%)
Children in extreme poverty (50%)
Children below 150% poverty
Children below 200% poverty
Children below 250% poverty
Children under age 5 in poverty
Persons 18 to 24 in poverty
Population in poverty
Single-parent families with related children that are below poverty
Married-couple families with related children that are below poverty

Employment and Income
Children living in families where no parent has full-time, year-round employment
Children in low-income working families, by Age Group
Children under age 6 with all available parents in the labor force
Children age 6 to 12 with all available parents in the labor force
Unemployed teens age 16 to 19
Median family (with child) income
Children living in crowded housing
Children without a vehicle at home
Children without a telephone at home
Children in low-income families living in households without a telephone
Low-income households with children where housing costs exceed 30 percent of income

Education
Children enrolled in nursery school, preschool or kindergarten, by Age Group
Teens who are high school dropouts
Children in households where the household head is a high school dropout
Children in households where the householder has a bachelor's degree or higher
Young adults enrolled in or completed college
High school graduates age 25-29 who have completed a bachelor's degree or higher
Children that speak a language other than English at home
Children that have difficulty speaking English
