About KIDS COUNT Data Center
The new KIDS COUNT Data Center, launched in January 2008, contains more than 100 measures of child well-being, including the 10 measures used in our annual KIDS COUNT Data Book. The Data Center includes the most recent data available on Education, Employment and Income, Poverty, Health, Basic Demographics, and Youth Risk Factors for the U.S., all 50 states, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands and features data for the 50 largest U.S. cities. Depending on availability, three to five years of trend data is currently available for most indicators. This easy-to-use, powerful online database allows you to generate custom reports for a geographic area (Profiles) or to compare geographic areas on a topic (Ranking, Maps, and Line Graphs). The KIDS COUNT Data Center replaces the KIDS COUNT State Level Data Online system which was launched in July, 2005.
Data on children and families at the county-level can be found on the Community-Level Information on Kids System (CLIKS). Additional information for many other geographies including congressional districts, American Indian homelands, state legislative districts, etc. are available from the 2000 Census on the KIDS COUNT Census Data Online
